Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Dawcade ("Company", "We", "Us", or "Our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our mobile digital audio workstation application ("Dawcade"), or interact with our services.
2. Data We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect includes:
- Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name and email address, which you voluntarily give to us when you subscribe to our newsletter, request updates, or contact us for support.
- Usage Data & Analytics: We use third-party services like Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect information when you access the Application. This includes your mobile device ID and advertising identifier (advertising ID), device model, operating system version, app interaction events, and crash reports to help us improve the audio engine and app stability. This data is encrypted in transit and is used solely for analytics and stability purposes — never for advertising.
- Crash & Diagnostic Reports (Sentry): We also use Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics. When the app crashes — or when you deliberately trigger a diagnostic upload from within the app (a manual "send logs" action) — a report is sent to Sentry containing device/build information, a stack trace, and a tail of the application's own log (Dawcade's log messages). These reports help us fix bugs. They never include your projects, recordings, samples, or presets, and Android does not allow the app to read other apps' or system-wide logs. Sentry data is processed in the EU.
- Audio Data: We do not collect, upload, or analyze the audio recordings, MIDI sequences, or musical compositions you create on your local device unless you explicitly choose to upload them to a Dawcade cloud service (if available) or attach them in a support ticket.
3. How We Use Your Data
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application or Website to:
- Notify you of updates, new features, or early access releases.
- Provide technical support and respond to your inquiries.
- Analyze usage trends and technical data (via Google Analytics) to improve audio latency and app stability.
- Prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity.
4. Disclosure of Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide users with advance notice. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations, such as:
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We share your anonymous usage and crash data with third parties that perform services for us, specifically Google (Firebase and Google Analytics) for app telemetry and analytics and Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) for crash reporting and diagnostics. We may also use email delivery services (e.g., Mailchimp or Sendgrid), hosting services, and customer service tools.
5. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Data Deletion Request: In compliance with Google Play Developer policies, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. If you wish to have your data removed from our systems, please contact us via the Contact page with the subject "Data Deletion Request." We will securely delete your data within 30 days of the request.
7. Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (such as under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to request that your personal data be corrected or deleted, and to withdraw your consent to our processing of your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the Contact page.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
