In short
Dawcade has no account, no sign-up and no login. Your projects, recordings, samples and presets stay on your device — we never upload them. The only data that leaves the app is technical crash and diagnostic information, plus (on Android) anonymous usage statistics. What is collected differs between the iOS and the Android version, so both are described separately below.
1. Who we are
Dawcade ("we", "us", "our") is the developer of the Dawcade music application for iOS and Android and the operator of dawcade.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app or visit the website, why, and what your rights are.
2. What stays on your device
The following never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else:
- Your projects and project settings
- Audio you record with the microphone or an audio interface
- Samples and sample packs you import
- MIDI performances, presets and app preferences
These files live in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
3. What the app sends — by platform
iOS (App Store)
The iOS version contains no analytics SDK and no advertising identifier. The only data that leaves the app is a technical report sent when the app crashes, freezes, is terminated by the system for memory, or when you deliberately trigger a diagnostic upload from inside the app. These reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), with data processing in the EU.
A report contains: device model, iOS version, app version and build number, audio engine version, device class (phone/tablet), the crash stack trace, and the last lines of the app's own technical log.
A report does not contain: your name, e-mail or any contact detail; your IP address (personal-data collection is switched off in the SDK); screenshots or the user interface hierarchy (both disabled); your music, projects, recordings or samples; location, contacts, calendar or photos. No user identifier is attached, and no performance or behavioural tracking is enabled.
In App Store terms, this is declared as Diagnostics → Crash Data and Diagnostics → Other Diagnostic Data. No other data category is collected.
Android (Google Play)
The Android version sends the same kind of crash and diagnostic reports through Sentry as described above (same content, same exclusions, EU processing). Android does not allow the app to read other apps' or system-wide logs, so only Dawcade's own log lines are included.
In addition, the Android version currently includes Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. Through these Google services we receive: device model and operating system version, app version, anonymous app-instance and device identifiers (which may include the Android advertising ID, supplied by the Google Play services libraries), in-app interaction events, and crash reports.
This information is used only to understand which features are used and to improve audio latency and stability. It is never used for advertising, ad targeting or profiling, and it is never sold. It never includes your music, projects, recordings or samples.
4. Website
dawcade.com uses Google Analytics to measure page visits (pages viewed, approximate region, browser and device type). This is separate from the app and applies only to the website. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker without affecting the app.
5. If you contact us
If you write to us for support or subscribe to update e-mails, we keep the e-mail address and the content of your message so that we can answer you. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell it. We may use standard e-mail delivery and hosting providers to send and store that correspondence.
6. Who we share data with
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — crash and diagnostic reports, processed in the EU. iOS and Android.
- Google (Firebase / Google Analytics) — anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. Android app and website only.
- By law — if we are legally required to disclose information, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7. Security
Data sent by the app is encrypted in transit. We apply reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention and deletion
Crash and diagnostic reports are kept only as long as needed to investigate and fix problems, and are deleted afterwards. Support correspondence is kept while it is needed to answer you.
Deletion request: in line with Google Play and Apple App Store requirements, you may ask us to delete data relating to you at any time. Contact us through the Contact page with the subject "Data Deletion Request"; we will delete it within 30 days. Content stored on your device is deleted by you at any time by deleting the projects or the app.
9. Children
Dawcade is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the CCPA or Turkish KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes — for example if an analytics component is added or removed. Updates are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's store listings.
